Cheryl Priest - Soprano
The Sydney-born soprano Cheryl began singing at an early age and is an active recitalist and soloist in Sydney. She is a graduate of the University of Sydney, holding an Honours degree in German and currently is a teacher of German, Italian and French. Her repertoire is extensive, including all musical periods and styles from sacred music through to Lieder, opera and musical comedy. Since 1990 she has performed as a soloist with Newington College in places such as the Sydney Opera House, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris and St Martin-in-the-Field in London as well as in numerous concerts and recitals. Since 1998 she has been a regular guest solo artist for the Sydney Welsh Choir. Cheryl has done solo work for groups such as the Joubert Singers, the Choir of the Martin Luther Church, Sydney and the Mater Chorale.

 

Julia de Plater - Piano
Born in Australia, Julia de Plater is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Julia has vast experience conducting in many musical genres. She has conducted operas for Opera Australia; the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra as well as many musical theatre pieces, most recently Opera Australia’s national tour of My Fair Lady. She has also been a Music Director for works such as A Little Night Music (Sydney Theatre Company). Julia was nominated for Best Musical Direction in the 2003 Helpmann Awards and won the Green Room Award for Best Conductor (Opera) for Love in the Age of Therapy and Sweeney Todd.
